Dans cet essai de 212 pages, publi\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019automne 2024 chez \u00c9cosoci\u00e9t\u00e9, elle expose avec lucidit\u00e9 les d\u00e9dales du syst\u00e8me de repr\u00e9sentation l\u00e9gale, en s\u2019appuyant sur des exemples concrets et une analyse rigoureuse. <\/p>\n<p>Alexandra Gilbert met en lumi\u00e8re l\u2019incompr\u00e9hension manifeste du Curateur public face \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 v\u00e9cue par les repr\u00e9sentants l\u00e9gaux. Au fil de ses rencontres, elle s\u2019interroge sur cette entit\u00e9 gouvernementale, d\u00e9nonce le manque de transparence (p. 73), critique la gestion et les co\u00fbts, remet en question les effets r\u00e9els de la r\u00e9forme de 2022 (p. 84 et s.), et donne la parole \u00e0 d\u2019autres proches confront\u00e9s aux m\u00eames frustrations (p. 111 et s.). Elle d\u00e9crit aussi les impacts humains et financiers de la prise en charge de la vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 par le Curateur public (p. 143 et s.).  <\/p>\n<p>Elle illustre l\u2019\u00e9cart entre les attentes institutionnelles et les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s v\u00e9cues:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u00abD\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9, le Curateur public insiste sur son r\u00f4le de surveillance, cafouille dans la transmission de l\u2019information, entrave l\u2019engagement humain par un poids administratif, et de l\u2019autre, il souhaite une implication plus grande des proches. [\u2026] Mais on ne peut pas favoriser une plus grande implication des proches dans l\u2019accompagnement d\u2019une personne en situation de vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 tout en consid\u00e9rant ce m\u00eame proche d\u2019abord comme un fraudeur potentiel.
